Yes, you heard us correctly, a Pedigree Tea – how amazing is that!? Not only can your lucky dog enjoy homemade ‘pupcakes’ and a ‘doggiechino’, but humans themselves can indulge in a most delicious afternoon tea. Folks, we kid you not, this is a treat not to miss!
As Londoners, we are pretty much used to being able to pop into a pub anytime on a Sunday, without having to think of whether or not they are still serving. On our last trip to Devon however, we found ourselves getting in a bit of a tizz trying to plan when we were going to eat, being aware that pub lunch hours are shorter than at home. Finding ourselves in Paignton at 2.45pm on a lovely sunny afternoon, we decided to turn off into the Blagdon Inn and arrived just in time to sample their Sunday carvery.
Effra Social is the latest boozer to hit the streets of Brixton and as well as being the talk of town, housing an eclectic mix of musical acts, comedy and DJs, they boast of superb Sunday lunches and claim to be to be incredibly dog friendly. We thought we’d try it out for size and as usual found we were visiting for Sunday lunch… Seems to be a bit of a Dog Friendly trend!

On each occasion, the Plume of Feathers has had all manner of canine visitors and the staff seem to genuinely love them all.

We at Dog Friendly UK find it much more pleasant sitting in a beer garden with Betsy the Chihuahua and she prefers to be out in the fresh air too.
Last weekend we popped into The Bridge House Tavern in Penge West for a late lunch. We’ve been there many times before because it has the best beer garden within the closest proximity to where we live – It was in fact the very first dog friendly place we visited with Betsy when she was a puppy, last Summer. Ah, she was so tiny then!
